13 days, through Ecuador: walk the equator, go deep into the Amazon, explore the Galapagos and climb the top of the volcano.

 

Day 1 Arrival in Quito

Fly to Quito and pick up to the hotel by special car. The hotel was transformed into a private mansion built in 1600. The owners are all the elites of Quito in the past 400 years, such as politicians, wealthy businessmen and scholars.

Day 2 Travel to the Amazon Rainforest

Take a flight to Coca, transfer to a speedboat for 2 hours, and go deep into the Amazon Rainforest-Yasuni Reserve in Ecuador. There are still a few tribes who have never been in contact with modern civilization and are rich in wild animals and plants.

The camp is located on the south bank of the Napo River, facing Lake Garza Cocha. At sunset, order a cocktail on the terrace, surrounded by a purple sky, and the chirping of animals can be faintly heard in the deep green jungle.

When the temperature is slightly cooler, hike rainforest trails, find and observe animals and plants, and the guide will share your knowledge about rainforest ecology for the first time.

Days 3 & 4 Amazon Rainforest Excursion

You will have 2 full days to explore the Yasuni Reserve in different ways, including:

○ Climb the 36-meter-high watchtower, enter the canopy, the main activity area of rainforest animals, and encounter birds and primates. On the way back to camp, learn to identify natural botanical herbs used by aborigines
○ Explore the rainforest by foot + canoe combination (once a day)
○ Observing feeding scenarios in communities of parrots feeding on mineral-rich clays

○ Visit aboriginal villages to learn about different lifestyles and survival wisdom

Day 5 Return to Quito, Quito Excursion

Return to Coca by speedboat, transfer to flight back to Quito, afternoon city tour. Quito was listed in the first batch of world cultural heritage cities in 1978, and the Spanish colonial buildings are well preserved. Follow the guide to visit major landmarks such as Metropolitan Cathedral, Church of San Francisco, Church of the National Oath.

Day 6 Go Galapagos and Tour

Flight to Galapagos Islands, pick up to hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Kadao Elephant Turtle Sanctuary and get up close and personal with these 1.5 meters long and 150 kg behemoths. When Darwin first visited Canada in 1835, there were about 250,000 elephant turtles, but now there are only 20,000 left. The main reason for the sharp decline is that whalers and pirates caught elephant turtles as meat meals in the 18 th and 19 th centuries.

With an exclusive beach and a 15-minute walk from Darwin Ecological Research Centre, the hotel offers a modern and comfortable accommodation.

Day 7/8/9 Galapagos Islands Excursion

You will have 3 full days to explore the Galapagos:

○ Head to the bay surrounded by coral reefs and mangroves, kayak and snorkel in search of animals including blue-footed boobies, white-tipped reef sharks and sea turtles (half day)
○ Follow natural history experts and explore the Galapagos Islands by yacht all day (2 times in total). Each boat can carry up to 20 passengers, in groups of 10. The island candidate list includes: North Seymour Island (frigate birds and sea lions); Bartolome Island (plus island penguins and sea lions); Praça do Sul (Terrestrial Iguana and Gadao Cactus); Santa Fe Island (land iguanas and sea lions)

○ Half-day free activity (you can start from the hotel by yourself, hike the bush trail to the beach, and encounter the marine iguana)

Day 10 Return to Quito, chocolate food experience

Take the flight back to Quito and pick it up to the hotel by special car. In the afternoon, come to a private mansion garden to gather tropical fruits and medicinal plants and make cocktails; Learn to roast cocoa beans in clay pots, grind the seeds using a stone mill, and make hot chocolate; Take taste as an opportunity to explore Ecuadorian food.

Day 11 Head to Cotopaxi and tour
A 2-hour ride to Cotopasi National Park, famous for the second highest active volcano covered with snow in the world (5897 meters). We will take a bus to the starting point of the hike at 4200 meters, and then climb to the alpine wooden cabin at 4800 meters, facing the mountain glacier, enjoy lunch and hot drinks.
Finally, stay at a wild luxury hotel overlooking Cotopasi volcano, enjoy dinner by candlelight, and wait for the soft blue light after sunset.

Day 12 Cotopaxi National Park Tour

According to your preference, experience the following activities for free (1 in the morning/1 in the afternoon)

○ Horseback ride through low brush with views of Cotopaxi Volcano, with a chance to see wild horses and deer along the way
○ Cycle 10 km of wilderness trails and feel the scenery of the Cotopaxi Plateau

○ Explore the uninhabited wasteland on foot, slow down, observe the plateau vegetation and flowers, and meet foxes and hares

Day 13 Tequila Distillery, ending the trip

Wake up with the morning light and let your emotions be Transparent air and lonely snow-capped mountains drowned. Subsequently Take a 2-hour ride back to Quito, visit the tequila distillery, and learn about the agave cultivation/collection/distillation process. This time, let your emotions be overwhelmed by the mellow wine. According to the flight time, a special bus will drop off to Quito and end the trip.
