This is an old house renovation project. The owner is a young couple born in 1980 s. The male owner is a teacher, and the hostess is engaged in the financial industry. Their family life is balanced and orderly. They have a son in elementary school, and they bought this house for the convenience of their children’s schooling.

The house is transparent from north to south, surrounded by no obstruction, even if it is located on the fourth floor, it has good natural lighting. The indoor area is about 60 square meters, and the small apartment pays special attention to storage. In addition, there are many children’s toys, so the owner has a great demand for storage space.

Living room

👆 Living room before renovation: Simple large white walls lack aesthetic feeling and lack storage space.

⭐ After the renovation: the design without main lamp is adopted, and the balcony is incorporated into the living room, which improves the overall lighting and makes the space appear open and bright. The TV wall is customized with a whole wall storage cabinet without handles, which is visually simple and powerful.

Restaurant

👆 Before the renovation: the restaurant area is cramped, and the entrance storage needs to be taken into account, so the space utilization rate is not high.

⭐ After the transformation: the integrated layout of the island platform and the dining table was designed, and the dining area was defined. A handleless sideboard is customized on the side, which is unified with the style of the entrance cabinet, greatly increasing the storage space and making the overall moving line smoother.

Kitchen

👆 Before remodeling: The kitchen area is small and the operation is crowded.

⭐ After the renovation: the kitchen becomes spacious and bright, the moving line is reasonable, and it is more than enough for husband and wife to cook together.

🏠 Design highlights:

1. Merge the living balcony of the kitchen, adding about 1.5 ㎡ of usable area to the kitchen;
2. The kitchen adopts an upper sliding rail sliding door, which saves space and is easy to clean;
3. Set up an island platform in the restaurant for the hostess to place flowers;
4. Remove the wall stack between the balcony and the living room, expand the vision of the living room, enhance the sense of transparency, and reserve a flower growing area in the corner of the balcony;
5. Add a large number of customized cabinets in the porch, living room, bedroom and other areas to fully meet the storage needs of the whole family.

Entrance

HALLWAY

On the left side of the entrance, a top-through entrance cabinet is customized, which adopts classic black and white color scheme, with neat lines and overall simplicity and elegance. The cabinet is divided into four functional areas through black concave hollows: the lower part is used as a shoe cabinet, the middle open compartment can be used for decorations or handy objects, and the upper and right door to the top parts are used for storage, which is convenient for hanging large clothes such as coats.

Living room

LIVING ROOM

⭐ The design without main lamp combined with the expanded balcony greatly improves the indoor lighting, and the space appears spacious and bright. The whole wall TV cabinet is designed without handles, which is simple, beautiful and practical.

In order to keep the floor height, there is no ceiling in the living room, and two white magnetic track lamps and wall washing lamp strips are directly installed on the ceiling, which shows the sense of design.

The TV cabinet is integrated with the sideboard, and the extra-long custom cabinet extends from the corner of the dining room to the end of the living room, providing extremely ample storage space and strengthening the integrity of the guest and dining room. The TV set is embedded in the cabinet body, and part of the open compartment is used for storing books and displaying decoration, thus avoiding monotony.

The orange-brown leather sofa is simple and elegant, and the comfortable sitting feeling can relieve the fatigue after work. Warm-colored lighting sprinkles on the sofa to create a welcoming atmosphere. The corner is matched with an outdoor folding chair in tone-on-tone, which can be stowed when not in use to save space.

Restaurant

DINNING

⭐ The restaurant adopts the integrated design of island platform + dining table, which defines the dining area. The handleless sideboard is the same as the porch cabinet, which increases storage and makes the space transition smoother.

Across the porch is the restaurant, and the elegant white marble island platform connects the porch and the restaurant. The hostess loves flowers, and the island platform is dedicated to displaying floral arrangements, echoing the green plants on the balcony. The dining table has a black solid wood top with acrylic legs to create a suspended visual effect. Track sockets are installed on the edge of the table that meets the island platform, which is very practical.

The dining room chandelier is composed of three simple black lines, and the strip light strip hangs parallel above the dining table. The light is even and soft, which enhances the dining atmosphere. The large space design of the sideboard makes it convenient to place daily necessities such as water dispensers and cups.

Kitchen

KITCHEN

The kitchen adopts upper sliding door, which is simple, space-saving and easy to clean. The black glass has a mirror effect, which visually expands the sense of space.

After the living balcony is incorporated into the kitchen, the operating area is increased and the moving lines are smoother. Both electrical appliances and stoves adopt built-in design to maximize the use of space and facilitate the owner’s activities.

Master bedroom

MUSTER BEDROOM

The owner wants the master bedroom to be warm and quiet, so the designer uses a lot of soft elements. Warm oak floors and checkerboard pile carpets at the end of the bed. The round ceiling light softens the space lines.

The walls are painted with apricot latex paint, which is harmonious with the dark coffee curtains. The light coffee soft-wrapped bedhead adopts an inclined design for easy leaning on.

The bedroom is designed with bay windows, covered with thick and soft cushions, and placed with cute pumpkin dolls, which makes me feel healed. Thin white gauze curtains ensure lighting and privacy.

Children’s Room

CHILDREN ROOM

The children’s room adopts a custom design of tatami mats combined with ladders, which is full of childlike interest. The handle of the wardrobe is specially selected in the shape of a star.

Considering the growth of children, the ladder area can be filled by adding custom cabinets in the future, so as to expand the bed area, and it will not be crowded at all after connecting the bay window.

The bed, desk and wardrobe are customized in one piece, and the beige and gray colors match naturally. Custom cabinets provide ample storage space, and even hidden drawers are designed under the stairs.

Toilet

BATHROOM

The bathroom area is limited, and the shower area uses Changhong glass sliding door for wet and dry separation. It is equipped with a multi-functional shower head, which is practical and advanced.

The sink adopts a white pull-out faucet and marble countertop, which is visually integrated. The multi-faceted mirror cabinet not only increases storage, but also visually expands the sense of space.

Balcony

BALCONY

Remove the balcony wall stack and use sliding door partition instead, so that the view of the living room is wider. Install gauze curtains on the inside to ensure privacy.

The corner of the balcony is specially set with a baffle as the hostess’s exclusive flower-raising area.

Outside the window is full of greenery and the view is wide. Families often read books, enjoy flowers, drink tea and enjoy a pleasant time here. After taking care of the flowers and plants, the hostess also likes to relax by leaning on the railing here.

On the other side of the balcony, there is a sink and laundry area, where daily washing and drying are completed. The upper hanging cabinet can be used to store infrequently used items.
