Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world, please keep this must-experience list!

As a person who has worked in the tourism industry for many years, I have set foot in many corners of the world because of my profession. But if I am asked where I want to revisit the most, my answer must be: New Zealand. Queenstown is undoubtedly the most dazzling business card in the South Island of New Zealand, and it can even be said to be synonymous with the South Island. Today, let me sort out a variety of wonderful ways to play in Queenstown.

Not much to say, let’s go straight to the dry goods!

One: Queenstown Airport

The moment you step into Queenstown Airport, you’ll understand why the journey is worth it. The airport itself is located in a natural landscape painting scroll, backed by the majestic mountains and facing the beautiful lake Wakatipu. Therefore, it is listed as one of the ten most beautiful airports in the world.

Two: Shark jet ship

Just landed, I couldn’t wait to jump into the arms of Queenstown and start my adventure. Then start with the Shark Jet Ship! It can gallop across the water at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, not only dive into the water, but also leap out of the lake like a bullet. How can you miss such an exciting project?

Three: Bungee jumping on Kawarau Bridge

Want to experience a heart-racing bungee jump? The Kawarau Bridge is the place for you. This is the origin of bungee jumping, where the world-famous 43-meter-high Kawarao Bridge bungee jumping is located. The bridge itself hangs between the cliffs, and the rushing Kawarau River is at its feet. This view alone is shocking enough.

Four: Neves Bungee Jumping

Think the Kawarao Bridge is not enjoyable enough or high enough? Then challenge neves bungee jumping, which is the ultimate dream of bungee jumping enthusiasts. The platform hanging in mid-air and swinging gently in the wind makes people’s legs weak just to look at it. Go and feel the extreme free fall of 134 meters straight down in 8 seconds.

Five: Jet speedboat + swing + rafting on the Owa River in Saudi Arabia

Come to the world-famous Owa River in Saudi Arabia and take a jet speedboat to feel the cool excitement brought by the splash! It is known as “the most exciting jet speedboat tour in the world”. Do you dare to challenge it in the canyon? In addition, there is a giant swing 109 meters high waiting for the warriors. If you like water activities, the rafting program of Kawarau River is equally wonderful.

Six: Ice bar at minus 5 degrees

Let the night end somewhere “cool” to the extreme. The MINUS 5 º Icebar is truly the “coldest” bar in Queenstown, where everything-walls, chairs, even wine glasses-is carved out of ice. In this real ice and snow world, the most special experience is to pour wine into an ice funnel, and then catch it directly with your mouth…

Seven: Crown Peak Ski Resort

This is New Zealand’s fascinating ski resort. Crown Peak Ski Resort has world-class facilities, excellent environment and open and changeable terrain. Whether you are a skier or a novice for the first time, you can find fun here.

Eight: Wanaka flies a small plane

After learning basic aircraft piloting and control skills under professional instructors, you will have the opportunity to steer the aircraft into the sky with your own hands. Overlooking the blue water of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding snow-capped mountains from high altitude, this beautiful scenery will definitely amaze you. Experience a real “6 to fly” feeling.

Nine: Skydive tandem skydiving

In the clouds of 4,500 meters, experienced skydiving instructors will be tightly connected to you through special equipment. At the ultimate speed of 200 kilometers per hour, you will experience about 60 seconds of blood-pumping free fall and feel complete weightlessness. You can also enjoy nearly 5 minutes of quiet time soaring through the air by parachute before landing safely to the ground.

10: Skyline + Peak Tram Restaurant Buffet

The starting point of the Sky Cable Car is very close to the centre of Queenstown, which is easily accessible by foot in just 5-10 minutes. The observation deck at the top of the hill can provide a wide 270-degree viewing angle, giving a panoramic view of Queenstown. Especially at sunset, the scenery is exceptionally intoxicating.

Eleven: Steamship TSS Ernslaw + Walter Peak Ranch BBQ Lunch

Remarks: During the maintenance period of the Ernslough from the end of May to the beginning of July every year, other cruise ships will replace it (the specific time is subject to the notice of the shipping company)

The steamship is the only coal-fired ferry still operating in the Southern Hemisphere and has been in service for a full hundred years. But the years have not made it look old. Its beautiful appearance and exquisite and elegant interior have itself become a moving landscape on Lake Wakatipu. Riding it feels like traveling back to the early 20 th century and feeling the retro European and American style. Pair it with a delicious ranch barbecue lunch and you’re sure to fall in love instantly.

Walter Peak Ranch

It is one of the best preserved plateau pastures in New Zealand and a must-visit for visitors to Queenstown. Here, you can watch relaxed and fun farm shows and traditional shearing shows, and ranch guides will explain the daily operations here. Additionally, you can experience an electric dirt bike tour and explore the ranch scenery.

Twelve: Greenorch Town

The trip to Greenorch is like a well-designed trilogy. By combining jet speedboat, forest hiking and four-wheel drive adventure, we will take you to appreciate the unique charm of this “Lord of the Rings” town in an all-round way. You can experience the sightseeing jet speedboat with New Zealand characteristics, hike through the precious virgin beech forest, and then take a bus deep into the “Paradise” town to visit many international blockbusters. Of course, leisurely sightseeing on horse is also an excellent option in Greenorchy.

XIII: Queenstown Hot Air Balloon

When the hot air balloon slowly rises to an altitude of 6,000 feet, the rising sun shines golden light on the mountains and lakes at its feet, and the unparalleled beauty of Queenstown and its surroundings can be seen at a glance-the Southern Alps, Lake Wakatipu, Excellent Mountains, etc. If you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings movie, you have a better chance to recognize many locations in the movie from the air, such as Brunan Ferry, etc., and even Mount Ernslaw is faintly visible.

Fourteen: Neves High Altitude Swing

Come and try the world’s tallest high-altitude swing! It is located right next to the Neves Bungee. You can choose to face forward or back, alone or with friends, be suspended above the valley and then instantly released! Cross a huge arc of 330 meters at an astonishing speed, and feel the intense pleasure of weightlessness and speeding. If you succeed in the challenge, you will also get a certificate and a commemorative hat.

XV: Southern Glacier Helicopter

Glaciers located on the South Island of New Zealand are natural wonders. By helicopter, you can overlook the vast and shocking glacier landform from the air, and observe the movement of glaciers and the surrounding pristine natural environment. Professional pilots and guides will explain the formation and geological knowledge of glaciers to you. Helicopters usually hover over glaciers, giving you the opportunity to take rare and magnificent photos. You can also choose to add glacier walking programs to step onto the glacier yourself and explore its interior structure in depth. This is an unforgettable experience suitable for adventure seekers and nature explorers, allowing you to fully feel the power and beauty of nature.
