August 8, Uganda: Go deep into the forest and trace the mountain gorillas

 

 

Day 1 Arrival in Entebbe

Fly to Entebbe Airport in Uganda, and a special car will pick you up and stay at the hotel on Lake Victoria for rest and adjustment.

Go to Day 2 Queen Elizabeth National Park

A special bus will take you on a domestic flight to Kasese. Then drive through the vast grasslands of Queen Elizabeth National Park to the east of the park The Kayabra region (which is one of Africa’s richest bird-rich reserves) and enjoy a sunset cocktail here. Stay tonight at an eco-camp converted from an old coffee factory.

Day 3 Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari
Morning safari by off-road bike in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Caseni Plains is a great place to find lions and herds of red antelopes, while Mivia Peninsula is the best place to spot leopards. The afternoon will focus on sustainability and experience three activities:

■ Visit a coffee cooperative that supports the employment of women in poor local villages.

Observe various birds in constructed wetlands rebuilt by villagers.

Plant a tree yourself on the edge of the village to contribute to the establishment of a buffer zone between people and wildlife.

Day 4 Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Deep into the Cayabra Canyon in the morning, tracking chimpanzees on foot in the dense forest. Although chimpanzees are small and sometimes difficult to see the whole picture clearly, it is definitely a rare and unique experience when they jump through the treetops above their heads and make various calls. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Zinga River Channel, home to hippos, elephants and buffalo, and see Pelicans and African sea eagles. After returning to the camp, visit the honey breeding cooperative in the village and enjoy the local traditional dances.

Day 5 Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Passing through the Ishasha area (where lions climbing trees can often be seen), it takes about 5.5 hours to drive all the way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Stay at select wild luxury campsites. Enjoy a sunset cocktail and listen to the singing of more than 150 species of birds inside the camp overlooking the virgin forest. At night, you can choose a book about primates, and look forward to your first encounter with mountain gorillas tomorrow amid the moonlight and insects.

Day 6 Bwindi tracks mountain gorillas

Go deep into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to track mountain gorillas and witness the real “King Kong” for yourself. Mountain gorillas are an endangered species, with only more than 1,000 in the world, nearly half of which are active in Bwindi. According to your physical condition, you can choose three hiking routes with different difficulty: low, medium and high on the same day.

Day 7 Bwindi National Park Tour

According to your interests, today’s itinerary has the following options:

A. Go into the mountain again and track down another different family of gorillas (recommended).

B. on foot Myaka Channel Looking for a hidden waterfall Cloth. There are 375 species of birds living here, including Punk-backed flycatcher, Blue-headed nectar bird, red-faced warbler, etc.

C. Visit an artificial tea garden designed to alleviate the conflict between people and animals, learn about the planting, picking and processing of tea, and enjoy tea facing the forest and mountains.

End of the trip on Day 8

Enjoy leisurely time at the hotel in the morning. Then take a bus for about 2 hours to the airport and take a domestic flight back to Entebbe. This is the end of the trip. You can take the flight that leaves after 8 o’clock tonight, or stay in your hotel and wait for your flight tomorrow morning.
