The house case introduced in this issue is an old house built in 1980 s. The owner has lived here for more than twenty years since he moved in in 1986. As the old house gradually suffered from problems such as cracked walls, moldy and outdated furniture, leaving a strong mark of life, the owner decided to comprehensively renovate this old house that had lived for many years to improve the comfort of living.

There are also some unreasonable places in the apartment type and structure of decades-old houses, so it is more difficult to renovate and design than blank houses. The renewal of “old and broken” is not only a simple decoration, but also a reshaping of a better lifestyle!

Because the apartment is directly facing the living room when you enter the door, in view of this situation, the designer skillfully set up one side at the entranceHollow entrance partition combining glass and fence。

This design presents a hazy aesthetic feeling of “still hiding half her face from us behind her guitar”. The partition effectively blocks the line of sight, avoids the embarrassment of “unobstructed view” and brings more sense of security and comfort to the residents.

At the same time, a custom shoe cabinet is installed at the entrance, which can be used to store shoes, and small objects such as keys or green plants can also be placed on the cabinet. It is worth mentioning that the design of the porch partition is deeply loved by the owners, and the owners call “Very satisfied!”

LIVING & DINNER ROOM

In the past, the area of old houses was usually relatively compact, especially the living room and dining room areas, which were particularly crowded. The modern home style pays more attention to the comfortable experience of public areas, so the original dining room and living room are merged to formDesign of Integration of Guest and Restaurant。

The light green leather sofa, marble coffee table and marble-faced dining table for five add rich layers to the space and create a simple and high-class atmosphere.

Due to the limitation of the original structure of the house, the living room has poor lighting and appears dim. The designer opened an indoor window on the wall of the second bedroom to introduce the natural light from the bedroom into the living room, thus enhancing the overall lighting and making the space more transparent and bright.

The customized TV cabinet adopts a glass cabinet door design, which not only increases the storage and display space, but also facilitates the owner to display his beloved hand-made collections.
